Clinical Assessment
Clients may self refer or be referred by their medical doctor, school, employer, or some other agency. Clients can expect to receive expertise in the area of clinical assessment to broaden their understanding of more global issues or with specific referral questions in mind.
Clinical assessment can address multiple areas of functioning, including: academic achievement, career interests and strengths, intellectual functioning, memory, executive functioning, mood, personality, and psychopathology. Assessment can also help screen for or better understand specific disorders that are impacting an individual’s ability to function. For instance, a police officer with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) who is struggling to return to work following a traumatic event or a student with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) who is struggling maintaining attention and focus in school.
Clients can expect a comprehensive assessment with a strength based approach, while understanding difficulties to make the best recommendations for future functioning.
